Blessed visit with AJ
Alekcey and Judith, the missionaries we'll be working with in Costa Rica, came to visit us last week. We had such a blessed time with them. We got a lot of our questions answered and answers to questions we didn't know to ask. On Monday night we had a get-together at church for our family and friends to meet Alekcey and Judith. On Tues. and Wed. we showed them around DC and the Pentagon. I wish we had had a few more days with them.

Our Summer
We've had a busy summer this year. We went to West Virginia to visit my dad. It's the first time in 24 years that I've seen my dad. It was a great visit. I plan on seeing him again before leaving VA. Dan and I went to the Creation Museum in Cincinatti (cool), then, we headed to Indiana for a family reunion. Our last trip for the summer was a trip to Williamsburg, VA then to Virginia beach for some awesome body surfing.
In between our trips, Dan and I spent many hours on our bikes taking trips to downtown DC and to Mount Vernon (George Washington's house).
Now, life is back to normal. Cristen and Dustin started school last Tuesday, I'm back to grading, cleaning house, selling our belongings online and etc...

Washington DC, 5K Run/Walk & NY City in 4 Days
A group of 15 people from the Singles group at Village Parkway Baptist came to Washington DC on Thursday. We spent Thursday and Friday with them touring the museums and monuments. On Saturday, Dan and I worked the 5K run/walk we helped organize, that our church puts on. On Saturday evening we met up with the Singles group at the airport to fly to Newark, NJ. On Sunday we went to Ellis Island, saw the Statue of Liberty, went to Time Square, and saw Curtains. Dan and I separated from the group for a little while to go see Ground Zero. After seeing Curtains, we said our goodbyes to the group, hopped on a train to the airport to fly back to DC. After we got our tickets, got to the gate and waited around until boarding time, they finally announced that our flight was cancelled. We went back to the hotel, had a good night's sleep and flew back home in the afternoon.
We had and wonderful time and it was great seeing everyone again and meeting a few new people. Here's a few pictures.

Anniversary Numero Cuatro
It's been an amazing four years with Dan. He is such a blessing in my life. This year for our anniversary we wanted to just get away for a couple days and spend some time together. We decided to go camping. The weather was perfect. We biked, walked/ran, rented a row boat and rowed around the lake and the most important thing about camping... we ate very well. It was a wonderful time of relaxing and enjoying each other and God's creation.
That's me doing the rowing while Dan takes pictures (his favorite pass time).
