The revelation of what we are is not revealed in our victories, but through our struggles.
There is nothing that the nearness of God cannot cure.
Fear is the gauge that measures the span between man and God. If I fear my focus is not on the Father.
If I have no peace and joy my focus is not on Father.
Pride is the master of disguise. Pride is: self-hatred, feeling offended, being defensive, jealousy, obsessing on failure and rejection, the feeling of not deserving anything, expecting the worst, being negative, and even some depression.
"Life will teach us all who the Master is, and though He must wait until our condition is broken, He enjoys our fellowship when it is all over." Mike Wells
Do we truly know what is good and what is bad? We label things good or bad all the time. If all that happens in our life is allowed by God, can they be labeled as bad or is it all meant for our good? All events, experiences, sorrows, pains, and joys are meant to bring us to His feet!
Who am I? This is my greatest lesson thus far. No matter how I grew up, the sins I've committed, the things I've done right or wrong, this is who I am to my Father:
a child of His
chosen
holy
a new creation
set apart
a saint
With lots of Love,
Lori

God Calling us to Costa Rica
Periodically Dan and I would talk about what we would do after he retired from the Air Force. We had several ideas but we knew we had time to figure it all out. Dan planned on another 6 to 8 years in the service. Then, we went to Costa Rica on a mission trip.
We can make our own plans for our lives but When God shows you His plan it's amazing, refreshing and brings so much peace. While we were in Costa Rica, God was working on us, softening us to His will. By our last day in Costa Rica Dan and I both knew without a doubt that God wanted us to work with the missionaries in Paso Marcos, Costa Rica.
We don't know the first thing about becoming missionaries but we do know that God will guide and provide. If our plans align with God's, we plan on being in Costa Rica by March of 2009 for full time mission work.
Dan and I continue to pray for His will and not ours. We pray that we will be dependent on Him and not on ourselves. It's through a dependancy on Him that we will be able to walk through the plans He has for us.

Our first adventure in the blogging world
We're finally biting the bullet and creating a blog! We thought this was the best way for family and friends to keep in touch with us, especially since, God willing, we'll be in Costa Rica in a little over a year. We'll keep everyone up-to-date on our progress, plans and adventure.
We love you all!
